What’s the Story?
My sister and I went to the same high school and would see each other randomly throughout the day in the halls. She went home for lunch one day for lunch and made cookies to bring back to her friends at school. I saw her that afternoon and she offered me one of the cookies which I took thinking that she made them without egg. As I soon found out, the cookies were made with egg resulting in me requiring treatment for my allergic reaction at school.

How could this have been prevented?
My sister made a slip up by making a batch of cookies for her friends and offering one to me. Sometimes there is so much focus on my peanut allergy that people can easily forget about my severe egg allergy. I really should have double checked with her to make sure that the cookie was safe.
